Computers (Ottawa and Chilliwack campuses)

Course participants should bring their own personal electronic devices as the CPC has moved to a paperless environment. Access to a laptop or tablet, and the CPC's Learning Management System (LMS) may be a requirement for certain courses. Edge and Chrome browsers are supported by our Learning Management System.

Internet service is provided by the Government of Canada. Internet use should follow the Government of Canada's policy for responsible Internet use. Please don't upload or download large files, as it reduces the bandwidth available for your colleagues.

Accommodations

The CPC Ottawa facility oversees room and meal reservations through their Registrar Services.

Accommodation requests must be made on the course registration form. Rooms will be assigned once the candidate is registered on the course based on availability.

Services

Students and registered visitors can access the laundry, kitchenettes, lounge, gymnasium, library and exercise room seven days a week. There is a Cafeteria and licenced bar, with limited hours of operation.

Students can also enjoy jogging trails along the Ottawa River and the use of complimentary bikes. Remember to bring your own helmet and to follow local bylaws and the Ontario Highway Traffic Act.

Computer access

Wi-Fi access is available throughout the campus. The password will be provided when you arrive.

Internet computers (with Microsoft Office) connected to a printer are located in the Library.

Four Ross/Intranet computers for RCMP employees are located in the atrium of Building A. You will need to request access from the Commissionaires. These computers are equipped with Windows 10, Office 2019 and Outlook. The computers are connected to a printer.

CPC West (Chilliwack) campus at the Pacific Region Training Centre

CPC West is part of the Pacific Region Training Centre (PRTC) in Chilliwack, British Columbia.

Accommodations

The dining room and accommodations at the Pacific Region Training Centre are operated by the Executive Hotel and Resorts. They are responsible for all services during your stay. If you have any disabilities, special dietary needs or allergies, please contact the hotel at minimum one week before to your stay at (604)703-2400.

Room rates

The total cost per day for meals and accommodations is $165.00 plus taxes on April 1, 2024. The Executive Hotel will accept all major credit cards and debit cards. A deposit of $200 at the time of arrival will be required if you do not have a major credit card.

The cost of the room includes dinner on the day you check in. The restaurant is open from 1700 to 1900 hours.

Services

Students and registered visitors can access the laundry, the Johnny Mac lounge, gym, and library seven days a week.

An onsite fitness centre is open to all attendees from 0500 to 2300 hours in Building 1119. Candidates and Pacific Region Training Centre employees must sign in as acknowledgement of the fitness centre regulations. There is also a public pool available at a neighboring recreation centre. The use of public facilities is not included with your hotel package. the Hotel reception can provide directions to the neighboring recreation centre.

Bikes can be rented at the front desk at a rate of $8 for 4 hours or $15 per day. Remember to bring your own helmet and to follow local bylaws and the BC Highway Traffic Act.

Computer access

The Student Access Centre in Building 1100 houses six RCMP Intranet computers where RCMP employees can check Outlook email, create documents, or search the Infoweb. Outlook Web Access (OWA) can be accessed through the Infoweb under Tools and Resources. It also has four open internet computers.

The WIFI password is given when you check in.

Accommodation cancellation policy

To cancel room reservations please contact the hotel prior to your stay at (604) 703-2400. There is no fee to cancel your room reservation.
