This course is designed for qualified forensic identification personnel. It will provide them the opportunity to develop their knowledge and skills in the areas of footwear evidence collection and analysis using scientific principles and established methodologies. This will provide them with much needed tools to prepare and explain their conclusion when giving evidence.
Candidate Selection Criteria (Prerequisite): This course is open to all forensic identification personnel who have a minimum of one year experience after having completed the basic forensic course.
Course length: 5 days
Course Content: Candidates will be able to properly locate, enhance, record and collect footwear impression evidence and report the findings/procedures to the investigator. They will also be able to testify in court on the work completed at the crime scene and on any footwear impression comparisons that were undertaken. A review and discussion on footwear impression court decisions.
